One of the first personalized songs I wrote (for pay, that is) was for a radiologist who heard a song of mine on the radio and contacted me with her idea. She was preparing to give a lecture on...how to give a lecture. So she asked me to take the outline of her lecture and make it a song. Then I recorded it, and she played the song as the intro to her speech. So, somewhere in Chicago, a roomful of radiologists heard "The Lecture Song" (to the tune of "Mack the Knife") and I have to believe they are better doctors for it.
"Thank you, Deputy Engelhart,
for giving me a ticket that day!
Just my luck, a hundred eighty one bucks,
I didn’t need the money anyway
I can’t deny I’m in the wrong, guilty as the day is long
As a token of my gratitude,
here is your very own song"
This song is available on my CD "
Love & Money" ....and many, many more!
